Beautiful hand built pottery bowl, intricately carved with roses and folk art borders. This particular method of decoration is called sgraffito, where an image is created by carving through a layer of underglaze to reveal the color of the clay below. The back is decorated with the mishima technique, where an underglaze is inlaid into the clay body. White clay with dark rose underglaze.
All items are made by hand, by me, from start to finish. As with all handmade items, slight irregularities in size, shape, and color are to be expected, and serve only to enhance the unique beauty of each piece. No two pieces are exactly alike!
Bowl is approximately 6" across and 2” deep, and is microwave and dishwasher safe.
