Beautiful oval serving dish, lovingly carved with poppies. This particular method of decoration is called sgraffito, where an image is created by carving through a layer of underglaze to reveal the color of the clay below. The design on the back is created with the Mishima technique, where colored underglaze is inlaid in the clay body. White clay with medium blue underglaze.
Dish measures approximately 12.5”x4.5”
